So I have managed to keep this pretty quiet for a while now, but my partner and I are about to embark on an amazing adventure and I cannot wait! No, we’re neither pregnant nor engaged, but we are about to head to Europe for two whole months of sun, sand, sights and pure awesomeness!!
That’s two whole months without working, although planning a trip this huge feels like it should be a full-time job! Being the control-freaks and perfectionists that we are, we decided to plan the whole thing ourselves which has been exhausting and time-consuming, to say the least. Can anyone say, first world problems?!
We spent a week in Europe at the beginning of 2011, visiting Munich, Salzburg and Venice ‘on our way’ to Whistler, Canada. Although it was Winter, we loved every place we visited and couldn’t wait to head back there for a Spring/Summer trip.
At first, we had a few ideas of the places we simply must visit (the above included); but after searching the interweb, our list grew and grew until it was pretty out of control! To be honest, two months is really not enough time, but short of quitting our jobs and becoming nomads, I think we’ve done a pretty good job of fitting as much in as we can without being constantly on the go over there.
We’re going to visit the UK, Belgium, Germany, Holland, Austria, Czech Republic, France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Croatia and The Greek Islands. Phew! We’ll do a couple of tours but will mostly be tripping around on our own accord.
I want to try and post updates while we’re away, but I’m not sure what our internet access will be like, so if you don’t hear from me for a while, don’t fret! I promise to send a postcard – or at least Instagram a few snaps.
Any tips and tricks for long-haul flights or travelling in Europe are most welcome!
