Wish(ed) You Were Here: Athens, Greece

1 – 3 July

When I started documenting our big European holiday, I never thought I would be sitting here, three months after our return home, still writing about it! Yet, here I am. And I hope you’re still here with me.

Athens was the final stop on our two month mega-trip; full of enormous monuments, sweltering heat and cab drivers with a death-wish. Athens fully re-ignited my curiosity for the ancient Greeks, which I seem to have suppressed since completing Classical Studies in year 12 at school.

We stared in wonder at the Acropolis, Hadrian’s Arch, Ancient Agora and the Temple of Olympic Zeus; visited Kerameikos & the Kerameikos Museum; and we also walked through the new Acropolis Museum, which had been recommended to us multiple times! It truly was amazing.
